If you missed out on the news about me getting the autograph ofU2 frontman, Bono, in person in Cape Town - well here's a small insight as to how things happend.

Bono was in town this past month for an unannounced visit to spend a few days with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and feast his 80th birthday with Tutu and his close friends and family in Cape Town.

When I heard from a friend that Bono was spotted in Cape Town, I immediately found out details about his wheerabouts and where he'd be in Cape Town over the next few days.

With the news that Bono would be attending a church service at St George's Cathedral in the Cape Town CBD, my friend Maya and I, plotted carefully as to how we'd get to the church with the hope of not only meeting him, but also getting a photo with him.

Well to our surprise at least 150 people were waiting outside the church to catch a glimpse of Bono and the Tutu guests at the church service, and after at least 25 minutes of waiting outside the church, Bono came outside with his wife Alison Hewson and greeted the media and fans.

It's in this moment that Maya and I managed to outwit, outsmart and outhink the dozens of cameras and fans, and managed to get up close and personal - with him signing an autograph for my collection.

Upon approaching him, there was obviously quite a bit of security around the legendary singer, but he was very gracious and clam, and did stop to sign an autograph or two and even took a photo with a fan - before getting into his getaway car!

He was very down-to-earth and greeted my "Excuse me Bono, can I have your autograph?" approach with a gentle yet affirming "Sure, no problem!" response.

I expected to be dealt with some diva behaviour, but not the case at all! Bono is a legend in the music industry and definately one in my books for being so laid back and enthusiastic with his fans! It was indeed a BEAUTIFUL DAY!
