MADONNA - MDNA
Madonna, always a master of reinvention has once again produced an electronic dance album. A few great electronic dance tracks like Girls Gone Wild and Addicted to Love will definitely make one move on the dance floor. You can also see different dance remixes being released. MDNA was timeously promoted with Give Me all Your Luvin, the first single from her new album being launch at the 2012 Super Bowl – carefully choreographed to over a billion viewers. Although MDNA has received mixed reviews, I love it – what is there not to love about Madge? She’s just reached number one on the US Billboard charts – that`s a fifth consecutive album atop these prestigious charts. With her catchy tunes and lots of radio play, we`ll all be singing Madonna`s catchy songs - as we always do. Let`s hope she finally visits SA with her MDNA World Tour later this year.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC 60
Who does not love the NOW compilation CDs. All the top hits on one CD. We are spoilt for hits with Rihanna`s We Found Love, David Guetta`s Titanium, Adele`s amazing hit, Rumour Has It and to Avici`s Levels. Avici performed in South African recently to a sold out performance in Cape Town and Joburg, receiving rave reviews. And yes, South African dance band, Good Luck has also made it onto the CD with their hit, Harlem. They recently got the number 1 spot on 5FM`s Top 40 and are currently playing at various clubs and festivals across South Africa. Word is they are going overseas soon. This CD is great to listen to in the car, via earphones while typing away at work, at a house party or just generally when you at home. Ok, I know, you can listen to it anywhere. Now That's What I Call Music 60 also works great as a gift for someone special in your life:-)
LIONEL RITCHIE - TUSKEGEE
Fact – Lionel Richie grew up in Nashville and the album Tuskegee is named after the area he grew up in. Now, I understand why he is dabbling in country music – he grew up listening to country music and is going back to his roots. Who would have guessed – this is the man who delivers the smooth, soulful and 80s-90s dance music? On Tuskegee, he collaborates with some of country music's biggest stars like Shania Twain, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. Now, I am not a big country music fan but I actually like the CD – I can appreciate Lionel being a bit risky by releasing his biggest hits on a country music CD. He's music is popular and mainstream – maybe that`s why it works so well with a country CD. To all die-hard Lionel Richie fans: I think you might like this CD. Go on, put on those cowboy boots and hats and let this R&B crooner melt your ears away with this stellar CD collection of duets and tunes!
